Produced from 100% Tinta del Pais vines between 60 to 80 years old planted in a single vineyard with a great variety of soils from clay at the bottom of the slope to gravelly sand at the top. Production methods are similar as for the Rios de Tinta with hand harvested fruit sorted prior to de- stemming and light crushing. Cooled pre-fermentation maceration helped to attain a deep color and intense fruit aromas. The wine was fermented with native yeasts and saw additional time with skins versus the Rios de Tinta. There were no other additions except sulfites at bottling. The wine was aged for 8 months in 225 liter barrels prior to assembling the final blend.

Tasting Note
Bright violet color. Heady smoke- and spice-accented dark berry and cherry aromas, with an intense floral quality building in the glass. Sweet and seamless on the palate, offering juicy, deep raspberry and cherry-cola flavors. In a polished style, with supple tannins shaping a long floral finish.
