The Spring
Mondariz is a low mineral water whose mineral composition elevates its health benefits. The spring is located in the town of Mondariz Balneario, Pontevedra (Spain), within a protected area of countryside, where water is filtered through underlying layers of granite, giving it a unique texture and flavour. Studies show that the water remains in the aquifer for between 60 and 150 years before gushing out at a constant temperature all year round.

History
The Mondariz waters were first discovered by local Dr. Domingo Blanco Lage, who observed how local people healed their dermatological injuries using these waters and began recommending them for therapeutic purposes. In 1873 the water obtained a declaration of public utility, and since 1877 it has been bottled at its factory, next to the spring. For many years the company operated alongside the Spa, the most modern spa-therapy centre in Galicia, in the beautiful valley of the river Tea.
