Il Coure – Zinfandel
Tasting Notes:
This wine has a mild aroma suggesting dark cherries with a woodsy and peppery note. The wine is medium-bodied and is supple on the palate, with pleasing flavors of ripe berries, plums and black pepper. It is a classically styled elegant wine. IL CUORE Zinfandel will enhance a diverse range of cuisine, including comfort foods such as braised lamb shanks, roasted herbed chicken, salmon, hearty pasta dishes, burgers, pizza, and grilled meats.

Vineyards:
IL CUORE (eel quarry) is a fitting tribute to the Italian immigrants who first planted the North Coast region of California to vines during the latter portion of the nineteenth century. The name IL CUORE translates to “The Heart” from Italian and is derived from the title of the original watercolor by Dan Rizzie featured on our label.

Vinification process:
IL CUORE Zinfandel and Petite Syrah grapes are harvested from three vineyards in historic Redwood Valley and on the Ukiah bench, all premium wine grape growing regions of Mendocino County. Premium Zinfandel wine has bountiful fruit aroma and flavors leading to some of California’s finest red wines. Old-school winemaking techniques and gentle use of oak barrel aging are used to make a ready-to-drink Zinfandel in its youth, yet with cellar-aging potential for another 5 years.
